Proof of Efficacy Study to Evaluate an Ayurvedic Formulation in the Treatment of Allergic Rhinitis: An Open Label Randomized Controlled Clinical Trial
A study on 250 patients compared the Ayurvedic formulation IMMBO to a levocetirizine-montelukast combination for allergic rhinitis. IMMBO showed significantly greater improvements in symptoms (TNSS: -5.70 vs. -3.31) and IgE reduction (-351.54 vs. -208.79), demonstrating superior efficacy and safety.
Acute and Sub acute Toxicity Study of Ayurvedic Formulation (AYFs) Used for Migraine Treatment
This study tested the safety of five Ayurvedic formulations for migraine prevention in rats and mice. Acute and sub-acute toxicity studies showed no toxic effects at doses up to 10 times the human dose. A slight mortality in high-dose groups was unrelated to treatment. The formulations are considered safe, but further chronic toxicity studies are needed.
Acute Promyelocytic Leukemia: 37 Years Long Ongoing Survival in a de novo Patient with Metal-Based Ayurvedic Treatment
Acute promyelocytic leukemia (APML) is a subtype of leukemia marked by anemia, infections, and bleeding. It is diagnosed through bone marrow tests and the PML-RARα fusion gene. Recent treatments with ATRA and arsenic trioxide have improved survival rates, but challenges like side effects and relapses remain. A 1982 case of a patient who survived 37 years without standard treatment suggests potential alternative therapies.
Immunomodulatory Effects of a Herbo-Mineral Ayurvedic Formulation in Experimental Models
IMMBO, a herbo-mineral Ayurvedic formulation, shows promise as an immune-modulator in immunosuppressed rats. It enhances immunity, blocks histamine release, and modulates key molecules like TNF-α and NF-κB, offering potential for allergic and immune-related disorders.
Demographic Pattern of Pancreatitis Patients in India – A Hospital-based Study
A hospital-based study on 2,050 pancreatitis patients across India found that 83% were male, with an average age of 24 years, and 75% aged between 19–45. Alcohol use was reported by 33.6% and tobacco by 18.4%, while genetic and gallstone-related causes accounted for 8.8% and 5% respectively. The findings suggest emerging lifestyle and regional risk factors, but broader studies are needed for definitive insights.
Management of multi-relapsed chronic pancreatitis through Rasaushadhis: A case study
Chronic pancreatitis causes irreversible pancreatic damage with limited treatment success and significant mortality. This case highlights a patient managed with Ayurveda, achieving nine years symptom-free and no disease progression.
