Immunomodulatory Effects of a Herbo-Mineral Ayurvedic Formulation in Experimental Models
IMMBO, a herbo-mineral Ayurvedic formulation, shows promise as an immune-modulator in immunosuppressed rats. It enhances immunity, blocks histamine release, and modulates key molecules like TNF-α and NF-κB, offering potential for allergic and immune-related disorders.
Observational research on the effect of an Ayurvedic treatment protocol in patients of hereditary pancreatitis
Hereditary pancreatitis (HP) is a chronic genetic disorder with limited treatment options. This study evaluated the efficacy of a year-long Ayurvedic Treatment Protocol (ATP) in 151 patients, 88 of whom completed the program. The treatment included Ayurvedic formulations, dietary adjustments, and discontinuation of pancreatic enzymes. Results showed a 92.8% reduction in attack frequency and a 98.7% decrease in hospitalizations (p < 0.0001), with no adverse effects. ATP demonstrated safety and effectiveness in managing HP, suggesting the need for further research.
Anti-Inflammatory Properties of a Processed Copper Complex in L-Arginine Induced Pancreatitis-Two Experimental Studies
Recurrent Acute/Chronic Pancreatitis (RA/CP) is a progressive pancreatic inflammation, often with unclear causes. An Ayurvedic Mineral Complex (AMC) showed promise in reducing exacerbations and hospitalizations in pancreatitis patients. In a rat model, AMC was well tolerated, reduced oxidative stress and inflammation, and protected the pancreas at doses of 25 mg/kg and 19 mg/kg.
Proof of Efficacy Study to Evaluate an Ayurvedic Formulation in the Treatment of Allergic Rhinitis: An Open Label Randomized Controlled Clinical Trial
A study on 250 patients compared the Ayurvedic formulation IMMBO to a levocetirizine-montelukast combination for allergic rhinitis. IMMBO showed significantly greater improvements in symptoms (TNSS: -5.70 vs. -3.31) and IgE reduction (-351.54 vs. -208.79), demonstrating superior efficacy and safety.
Hepato-protective Effect of an Ayurvedic Formulation Prak-20 in CCl 4 Induced Toxicity in Rats: Results of Three Studies
Prak-20, an ayurvedic herbo-mineral formulation, was studied for its hepato-protective effects in rats. It showed no significant liver damage or elevated enzyme levels compared to controls. In higher doses, it reduced liver enzymes by up to 54% and minimized liver damage. These results suggest Prak-20 is effective in protecting the liver, with further research needed on its mechanism.
Transformation of Copper into therapeutic mineral complex following principles of Rasa Shastra
Rasa Shastra, an Ayurvedic branch, transforms toxic substances into safe therapeutics. A compound using Copper, Mercury, Sulphur, Luffa echinata, Clitoria ternatea, and lemon juice was effective in treating pancreatic disorders. The 2015-17 study developed standard procedures and analyzed the compound, revealing new mineral forms and no free metals. This demonstrates the potential of traditional methods in safely converting metals into effective treatments.
