This is the story of Rohit Gupta , whose resilience transformed a seemingly insurmountable clinical crisis into a definitive victory for holistic medicine. It narrates the journey of Rohit Gupta, a Delhi-based businessman, who, from 2015 to 2018, battled Chronic Pancreatitis—a condition that tested his physical endurance and severely impacted his traveling business and young family.

The Initial Crisis: The Trap of Painkillers

Rohit’s struggle began in September 2015 with severe abdominal pain and vomiting, initially mistaken for food poisoning. He was soon diagnosed with Acute Pancreatitis. Over the next three years, his heavy travel schedule and inability to manage the pain led him into a dangerous cycle of reliance on pharmaceuticals. He self-administered doses of M-Set and Dynapar just to buy himself a few hours of relief, carrying the pills everywhere. This temporary fix masked the severe, progressive damage occurring within.

The Systemic Breakdown: The Cancer Fear and the Pain of No Escape

By 2018, the attacks became relentless. After enduring multiple hospitalizations (up to 45 days during his first attack), doctors delivered the devastating verdict: the disease had progressed from Acute to Chronic Calcific Pancreatitis with a dilated PD of 9mm. He was told the next stage was cancer. The physical and mental toll was immense, compounded by a financial burden exceeding ₹3.75 Lakhs. The pain was so intense that Rohit admits he would rather have chosen death than face the agony. Furthermore, he noted his pain was hardest on his family, particularly his father and wife, creating emotional turmoil greater than the physical suffering itself. He quickly discovered that the pancreas was the one organ in the body that could not be easily transplanted.

The Padaav Pivot: Back to School for a Lifestyle Fix

Faced with hopelessness, Rohit turned to the internet and found Padaav. Despite his ingrained skepticism toward Ayurveda (believing it works too slowly) and his attempts to pay double the charges to avoid the mandatory 18-day residential stay, he was told by the Vaidya that the disease was a lifestyle issue requiring a lifestyle fix. Reluctantly, he traveled to the center in Rudrapur, Uttarakhand. This marked the shift away from temporary fixes towards rooting out the cause. He learned the disease wasn’t just caused by alcohol (which he already quit in 2010), but by lifestyle factors like poor schedule and Vitamin D deficiency.

The Recovery: The Permanent Cure of Time and Discipline

The structured life at Padaav waking early, a restricted diet, and fixed meal timings was initially difficult, but transformative. The core lesson was maintaining a fixed time schedule for eating and sleeping, allowing the body’s natural processes to function. The Vaidya made a powerful promise: “We are fixing this disease permanently, not just for a year or two.” Today, after seven years, Rohit has not experienced a single recurrence. His diet has opened up, his social life is back, and his health is the foundation of his successful business and happy family life. He attributes his complete cure to the power of Ayurveda which treats the root cause, not just the pain.

His message is clear: no matter how tough the journey, with the right support, treatment, and determination, recovery is possible. Giving up is not an option.
