Sumit’s Recovery: Restoring Function and Reclaiming Life

Sumit suffered from Pancreas Divisum, a congenital anomaly where the two pancreatic ducts (the ventral and dorsal ducts) fail to fuse during fetal development. This malformation prevents digestive enzymes from draining properly, leading to internal pressure and recurrent inflammation. While the condition was present from birth, it remained asymptomatic during his childhood due to a disciplined school routine. It only manifested severely as he entered the more irregular lifestyle of college.

The Systemic Breakdown: Misdiagnosis and Despair

Sumit’s first crisis occurred in early 2019 while he was teaching a tuition class. He experienced sudden, intense pain in the upper abdomen that worsened even with a sip of water. He was rushed to a military hospital in Dehradun, where tests revealed elevated Amylase and Lipase levels, but no definitive cause was identified.

When the attack recurred a year later, doctors suggested Sumit might be a “secret alcoholic”. Despite his insistence that he had never touched alcohol, medical staff were initially skeptical, even suggesting to his parents that he was lying. Eventually, an MRCP and CT scan confirmed the diagnosis of Pancreas Divisum.

By April 2024, the situation turned critical. A severe attack saw his Amylase and Lipase levels surge to 8,000 U/L. An ERCP (Endoscopy) revealed that the repeated inflammation had caused his pancreas to become chronic. Sumit fell into a state of depression and stress, fearing his condition was incurable.

The Padaav Pivot: A Hope-Driven Referral

While hospitalized, Sumit’s father encountered another patient whose pancreas was severely damaged. This patient had sought treatment at Padaav and shared a positive review. Intrigued, Sumit researched Padaav on YouTube and found hope in the patient testimonials. Attracted by the center’s natural environment and the structured approach to chronic disease, the family decided to seek treatment there.

The Recovery: Restoring Function and Reclaiming Life

The recovery at Padaav centered on a 21-day inpatient program designed to reset the body’s biological clock and form permanent healthy habits.

  • Hydration and Routine: Sumit learned to start his day with 500 ml of water and strictly follow a two-hour meal gap to prevent both overeating and fasting.

  • Rasashastra Protocol: He was placed on a specific Ayurvedic medicinal chart, including Amar, Rason Vati, and Kamdudha Ras.

  • Lifestyle Realization: Sumit realized that the lack of discipline in his college life—irregular eating and sleeping—had exacerbated his genetic condition.

  • Peer Support: Meeting other patients with Pancreas Divisum and Gallbladder stones helped him realize he was not alone, boosting his motivation to heal.

The Outcome: From Chronic Inflammation to Normal Function

After completing 14 months of treatment, Sumit is now completely pain-free. His clinical results show a “medical miracle” in restored function:

  • Amylase/Lipase Levels: His levels have dropped from a staggering 8,000 U/L to a normal range of 70-80 U/L.

  • Fecal Elastase Test: A crucial marker of pancreatic health, Sumit’s elastase levels rose from a deficient under 50 to an exceptional 800, indicating that his pancreas is now successfully producing digestive enzymes.

His Message: “I used to wake up with acidity and lethargy; now my body feels active and fit. If you spend just 21 days at Padaav to fix your lifestyle, you can reclaim your entire life from this disease”.

Experience at Padaav

Sumit describes Padaav as a place that combines the healing power of nature with a scientific approach to lifestyle medicine. He emphasizes that while conventional medicine manages pain with temporary glucose drips and painkillers, Padaav uses Rasashastra to address the root cause, even in genetic conditions like Pancreas Divisum.
