In 2009, Rajeev Kumar Sharma, a government employee, was riding a two-wheeler from Rishikesh to Dehradun when he suddenly felt a severe pain in his stomach. The pain was so intense that it became difficult to even sit on the bike. Somehow, he managed to reach home and went to a doctor. He was admitted to the hospital, and after a week of treatment, he was discharged. However, Rajeev was still curious about the cause of the pain. A year later, in 2010, the pain returned, this time even worse than before.

Rajeev went from one hospital to another for treatment. After several tests, he learned he had pancreatitis. He gradually realized that alcohol and tobacco, which were part of his routine, were making the condition worse. The excruciating pain left him feeling hopeless.

In 2012, some friends suggested he visit PGI for treatment. Rajeev consulted doctors there, but even after a year of treatment, the doctors couldn’t identify any issues with his pancreas. He returned to Dehradun, and whenever the pain became unbearable, he would visit local hospitals. He even started avoiding alcohol and non-vegetarian food in hopes of reducing the pain.

By 2016, Rajeev had been to multiple hospitals and undergone countless tests, but the pain never subsided. Finally, PGI doctors suggested that his pancreas was weak from birth and recommended inserting a stent. Rajeev underwent the procedure, but the discomfort persisted.

During this painful journey, a friend told him about Padaav and its treatment. Rajeev decided to give it a try. After 21 days of treatment at Padaav, he considers it his “golden period.” Rajeev says, “At Padaav, I was given a new life. I had almost lost hope, but the structured diet and proper medications helped me recover. With my job in the fire department, it was difficult to follow a routine, but once I had a clear schedule, everything became easier.”

He further explains, “At Padaav, everything was meticulously planned—when to have breakfast, snacks, lunch, and dinner. Following this routine and the prescribed medications helped me heal. If I had gone back to unhealthy eating habits, I would have suffered again. Padaav was never like a hospital for me, as the treatment was honest and affordable. In contrast, private hospitals tend to overcharge, especially if they know you have insurance.”

Rajeev also shares the financial struggle, as even with a government job, the cost of treating pancreatitis was overwhelming. He urges people to stay away from alcohol and tobacco. Rajeev requests If you suffer from pancreatitis, whether acute or chronic, you should immediately visit Padaav for treatment to find a solution quickly.
