Hello, my name is Nazia Hassan, and I am from the Purnia district of Bihar. Today, I am sharing my story with you, a story filled with pain, despair, and ultimately, hope.
This is the story of my battle with pancreatitis, a disease that gripped my life from the age of 9. In the beginning, I didn’t even know what it was. I would eat anything, and I would have pain. Playing, going to weddings, pain followed me everywhere. My four siblings would eat the same food, and they would be fine, but I would be writhing in pain. My parents would just say, “Don’t eat this, why do you eat that?” They didn’t understand why it only happened to me.
Gradually, the pain increased, going to school became difficult, and my education stopped after the sixth grade. I would have pain attacks two or three times a year, and after tenth grade, the pain became unbearable. I couldn’t even explain it; I didn’t have the strength to lift a finger. Doctors would say, “It’s gas, nothing serious.”
Fed up with the pain, the doctor said I had gallstones, and surgery was planned. But before the operation, it was discovered that the stones were gone! The doctor said that the stones had moved from the gallbladder to the pancreas.
Because of the illness, I couldn’t continue my studies, and I fell into depression. People said, “Get her married, she’ll be fine.” Doctors also gave the same advice. At the age of 19, I got married.
Even after marriage, the pain didn’t lessen; it worsened. Immediately after the marriage, I became pregnant, and for nine months, I fought with death every day. Even after the baby was born, the pain attacks continued. Finally, one day, I gathered courage and went to the doctor alone, and had all the tests done. Looking at the report, the doctor said, “You have chronic pancreatitis, there are stones in the pancreas, and 60% of it is damaged.” I was happy that at least the illness was identified. But the doctor said, “There is no cure for this.” I would have to take medicines for the rest of my life, and struggle with the pain.
Hearing the doctor’s words, I was shattered. Finally, at the age of 22, the doctor advised surgery. I had the surgery, but the pain worsened. After a few months, the pain attacks started again. For almost 3 years, I received treatment at big hospitals in Delhi, but there was no benefit.
One day, defeated, I went to the doctor and cried, “There must be some treatment, please tell me something!” Then they told me that since I was young, surgery could be an option. In the surgery, they would try to remove as many stones as possible from the pancreas. In 2016, I had the surgery, and spent three days in the ICU; the pain was unbearable. But even after the surgery, the pain attacks continued.
I was completely broken, my weight had dropped to 30 kg. My husband, family, everyone was worried. Then one day, my husband was searching on Google, “If there is no treatment in India, then there must be somewhere else.” That’s when he found a link to Padaav Ayurveda, where they claimed to successfully treat pancreatitis.
At first, I didn’t believe it, “What will Ayurveda do? Herbs, wasting money.” But my husband insisted, and he arranged for me to talk to former patients of Padaav, and I heard their stories. Then I felt a little hope.
In 2017, I reached Padaav Ayurveda, and looking up at the sky, I said, “This is my last hope.” In the beginning, it was very difficult to stop taking allopathic medicines, but slowly I started getting relief. After 21 days, when I was discharged from Padaav, I started feeling hungry, and I didn’t have any burning sensation after eating. I felt like I was getting better.
For a year, I remained in contact with the Vaidya (Ayurvedic doctor) at Padaav, and continued taking the medicines. The pain attacks continued, but they were not as severe as before. Gradually, the pain started decreasing, and I started gaining weight. But even after a year, I wasn’t completely cured.
Then I came into contact with Vaidya Shikha Prakash ji of Padaav. She gave me a lot of support, and listened to every little thing I had to say. For a year, I continued taking medicines under her guidance, and made changes in my daily routine. Gradually, my pain completely disappeared, I started gaining weight, and I started living my life again.
Today, it has been 8 years since I have been with Padaav Ayurveda, and I am living a normal life. I can eat everything, I can travel, and I can watch my children grow up. Padaav Ayurveda has given me a new life.
I express my heartfelt gratitude to the entire team of Padaav Ayurveda, especially Vaidya Shikha Prakash ji and Vaidya Balendu Prakash ji. They not only healed me physically, but also made me mentally strong.
