This story is a powerful testament to resilience and hope. It narrates the journey of Ravinder Kumar, a farmer from Panipat, who, from 2015, battled Recurrent Acute Pancreatitis—a condition that tested his physical endurance, his family’s finances, and his commitment to breaking destructive habits.
The Initial Crisis: The Alcohol Trap and Relentless Recurrence
Ravinder’s struggle began in 2015 with severe vomiting and abdominal pain, attributed largely to his heavy, chronic alcohol consumption. Despite his initial diagnosis and hospitalization, he could not break the habit, leading to a brutal cycle of recurrence. By the time he sought definitive care, he had suffered 12 major attacks and was hospitalized an estimated 50-60 times. His family’s financial fortitude—with an expenditure of at least ₹4 Lakhs across multiple institutions (Prem Hospital, PSRI Delhi)—was the only thing saving him from being “with God.” The conventional treatment focused only on temporary symptom suppression (“drip laga diya, pani rok diya”), never offering a cure.
The Systemic Breakdown: The Hopeless Cycle and Diabetic Crisis
The failure of conventional medicine was compounded by his uncontrolled Diabetes; Ravinder’s sugar levels frequently maxed out the machine, registering up to 600. His family eventually reached a breaking point, telling him they could no longer afford the repeated admissions: “Kahan tak tera ilaaj karayein? Marna to hai to mar.” Ravinder’s own conclusion was grim: traditional medicine offers “no treatment,” only temporary relief. Simultaneously, he was misdiagnosed with Migraine for a severe head pain that persisted for 10 days, demonstrating the diagnostic confusion and hopelessness that defined his life before Padaav.
The Padaav Pivot: The Last Resort and a Divine Shift
Driven by desperation and the failure of symptomatic treatment, Ravinder found Padaav through a friend’s recommendation. Despite his profound initial skepticism toward Ayurveda, his family insisted. He entered the Padaav Speciality Ayurvedic Treatment Center in Dehradun in July 2018. Ravinder admits that for the first “three or four days, I did not have even 1% faith” in the treatment. However, the structured routine—which replaced his life of excessive ghee, lassi, and chai with controlled, timed meals—slowly brought stability. His family also adopted the new lifestyle, eliminating forbidden foods like onion and garlic from their home.
The Recovery: Beyond Pancreatitis, Healing the Whole Body
The results were miraculous. Ravinder completely stopped drinking alcohol on his own resolve while at Padaav and never touched it again. His blood sugar levels, previously out of control, were dramatically stabilized. After completing his regimen, he was free from the monthly hospitalizations that had plagued him. Seven years have passed, and he has not had a single pancreatitis attack. Furthermore, the persistent, severe head pain he was told was chronic Migraine was completely cured with one month of Ayurvedic medicine from the same center. He now believes that Padaav is “above God” for what they did for him.
His message is clear: no matter how tough the journey, with the right support, treatment, and determination, recovery is possible. Giving up is not an option.
