Changing Demography of Pancreatitis Patients in India -A Hospital Based Study
Pancreatitis is rising globally, with major risk factors including alcohol, tobacco, and family history. A study of 800 patients in North India found higher incidences among non-alcoholic, non-tobacco users, and those with no family history. The disease mostly affected men (4.6:1) aged 19-45, particularly in the service class and students. Further research is needed to explore its causes and extent in the region.

Observational research on the effect of an Ayurvedic treatment protocol in patients of hereditary pancreatitis
Hereditary pancreatitis (HP) is a chronic genetic disorder with limited treatment options. This study evaluated the efficacy of a year-long Ayurvedic Treatment Protocol (ATP) in 151 patients, 88 of whom completed the program. The treatment included Ayurvedic formulations, dietary adjustments, and discontinuation of pancreatic enzymes. Results showed a 92.8% reduction in attack frequency and a 98.7% decrease in hospitalizations (p < 0.0001), with no adverse effects. ATP demonstrated safety and effectiveness in managing HP, suggesting the need for further research.
CA19-9 lowering effect of Ayurvedic Mineral Complex in the patients of Chronic Pancreatitis
CA19-9, a marker for pancreatic cancer, is elevated in pancreatitis and some gastrointestinal cancers. An Ayurvedic Mineral Complex (AMC) has shown promise in lowering CA19-9 levels in pancreatitis patients. This finding could lead to further research on AMC as a preventive therapy for pancreatic cancer in such patients. This study reports on 43 pancreatitis patients treated with AMC.

Pancreatitis, affecting the pancreas' function, causes symptoms like pain, nausea, and weight loss. Conventional treatments are limited, prompting many to seek alternative medicine. A North India Ayurvedic clinic successfully treated 319 cases of Recurrent Acute/Chronic Pancreatitis using a specialized Ayurvedic Treatment Protocol (ATP), including the formulation Amar. This treatment improved weight and reduced attack frequency without side effects. Ongoing research is exploring its potential.
