Observational research on the effect of an Ayurvedic treatment protocol in patients of hereditary pancreatitis
Hereditary pancreatitis (HP) is a chronic genetic disorder with limited treatment options. This study evaluated the efficacy of a year-long Ayurvedic Treatment Protocol (ATP) in 151 patients, 88 of whom completed the program. The treatment included Ayurvedic formulations, dietary adjustments, and discontinuation of pancreatic enzymes. Results showed a 92.8% reduction in attack frequency and a 98.7% decrease in hospitalizations (p < 0.0001), with no adverse effects. ATP demonstrated safety and effectiveness in managing HP, suggesting the need for further research.
Anti-Inflammatory Properties of a Processed Copper Complex in L-Arginine Induced Pancreatitis-Two Experimental Studies
Recurrent Acute/Chronic Pancreatitis (RA/CP) is a progressive pancreatic inflammation, often with unclear causes. An Ayurvedic Mineral Complex (AMC) showed promise in reducing exacerbations and hospitalizations in pancreatitis patients. In a rat model, AMC was well tolerated, reduced oxidative stress and inflammation, and protected the pancreas at doses of 25 mg/kg and 19 mg/kg.
Integration of Ayurvedic formulations with iron folic acid in the treatment of nutritional anaemia among school going adolescents of Dehradun District
This study evaluated the effect of Ayurvedic preparations Sootshekhar Rasa (SR) and Sitopaladi Churna (SC) with iron and folic acid (IFA) on nutritional anaemia in 820 adolescents in Dehradun, India. After 90 days of treatment, all groups showed increased haemoglobin levels, with the best results in the group receiving SR + SC + IFA. No major side effects were reported, and the treatment led to sustainable improvements in anaemia.
Impact Evaluation of Ayurvedic Treatment Protocol on Three HundredNineteen Cases of Different Variants of Pancreatitis
Pancreatitis, affecting the pancreas' function, causes symptoms like pain, nausea, and weight loss. Conventional treatments are limited, prompting many to seek alternative medicine. A North India Ayurvedic clinic successfully treated 319 cases of Recurrent Acute/Chronic Pancreatitis using a specialized Ayurvedic Treatment Protocol (ATP), including the formulation Amar. This treatment improved weight and reduced attack frequency without side effects. Ongoing research is exploring its potential.
Significant Reduction of Carbohydrate 19-9 Antigen Levels in a Patient of Acute on Chronic Pancreatitis through Ayurvedic Treatment Protocol
A 52-year-old male with recurrent acute necrotizing pancreatitis showed poor response to conventional treatment, leading to weight loss and high CA 19-9 levels. Ayurvedic therapy, including herbal formulations, a balanced diet, and rest, normalized his CA 19-9 levels within 108 days, highlighting its potential for further study.
Acute and Sub acute Toxicity Study of Ayurvedic Formulation (AYFs) Used for Migraine Treatment
This study tested the safety of five Ayurvedic formulations for migraine prevention in rats and mice. Acute and sub-acute toxicity studies showed no toxic effects at doses up to 10 times the human dose. A slight mortality in high-dose groups was unrelated to treatment. The formulations are considered safe, but further chronic toxicity studies are needed.
