The Early Struggle of Anamika : A Childhood Interrupted

Ananya’s battle began at the age of 12 in 2013. What started as a routine Sunday stomach ache quickly escalated into a life-threatening crisis. By the next day, a 15-minute school bus ride took two hours as she suffered from uncontrollable vomiting and excruciating pain. In her small hometown, doctors realized the severity and referred her to Hisar and eventually Delhi.

At just 12 years old, she spent a month in the ICU at Apollo Hospital, Delhi, diagnosed with Acute Necrotizing Pancreatitis with pseudocyst formation. For five days, she wasn’t allowed any oral intake, surviving only on cotton swabs dabbed on her lips and a nasal feeding tube. Her condition was so critical that her parents were told it was difficult to save her.

The Systemic Breakdown: Six Years of Managing Pain

For the next six years, Ananya lived through a relentless cycle of attacks. She sought treatment from top institutes, including AIG Hyderabad, where she underwent EUS-guided pseudocyst drainage and stent placement. Despite these interventions, the attacks persisted every three months.

By the time she finished her 12th standard, she had suffered approximately 25 major attacks. Conventional medicine offered only temporary relief through IV fluids, antibiotics, and heavy painkillers like Ultracet. The psychological toll was immense; she recalls hitting her legs against the wall in agony and feeling that death would be preferable to the pain.

The Padaav Pivot: Choosing Root-Cause Healing over Surgery

In 2018, as she prepared to move to Delhi for her studies, the stress triggered another severe attack. While hospitalized in Delhi, surgeons suggested removing her gallbladder due to “sludge,” warning of potential internal bleeding.

Ananya’s sister discovered Padaav and contacted the center. Despite initial skepticism—as the treatment involved a structured routine rather than the sterile ICU environment she was used to—Ananya decided to surrender to the treatment. She met Vaidya Shikha Prakash, who spent an hour understanding her history, a stark contrast to previous doctors who granted only minutes of their time.

The Recovery: A Year of Dedication

Ananya began her treatment at Padaav in September 2018. The recovery was anchored in a “one-year commitment” to absolute discipline:

  • The 21-Day Habit Phase: She stayed at the center to reset her biological clock, focusing on “Reasonable and Seasonable” nutrition and rest.

  • Strict Dietary Protocol: For one full year, she followed instructions precisely, avoiding triggers like tomatoes while reintroducing essential nutrients like ghee and rotis.

  • Discipline and Routine: She prioritized healing her immune system, following a strict schedule of sleeping early and maintaining a consistent routine.

The medical results were transformative; her weight stabilized, and the chronic pain vanished. A follow-up USG in 2024 showed her gallbladder to be grossly normal and no free fluid in the pouch of Douglas.

Reclaiming Life: From Survivor to Ambassador

Today, five years after her treatment, Ananya is a “Pancreatitis Survivor” leading a full life. She works in a corporate role, manages her own earnings, and has explored event management and drama.

Though she chooses to use the name Ananya to protect her privacy in society, she serves as a global ambassador for Padaav, often taking calls from patients to offer them hope. Her message is clear: “Pancreatitis is not a weakness; it is a strength. If you give your body one year of patience and trust, Padaav can give you a second life”.

Experience at Padaav

Ananya describes Padaav as a place where the focus is on the lifestyle and root cause rather than just medicine. The 24/7 support from the team and the transition from an ICU regular to eating freely and traveling is her ultimate testimony to the center’s efficacy.
